- Who should get sealants?

- How long do sealants last?
- Up to 5 to 10 years, depending on wear. We check them at every routine visit and reapply if one has worn down.
- Is having sealants applied painful?
- No. It is quick, simple and completely pain-free — no drilling and no anesthesia.
- How are sealants different from fillings?
- Sealants are preventive, applied to healthy teeth to stop decay starting. Fillings are restorative, repairing a tooth that already has decay.
- Do I still need to brush and floss?
