Job Description: The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in performing accounting services for a portfolio of clients, including record of purchases, sales, receipts, payments and general ledger reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update financial records and statements Process accounts payable and receivable Assist with payroll processing, expense reports & manual journal entry Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements Assist in the preparation of financial packages Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings Monitor financial transactions and report any discrepancies Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and execution of administrative tasks Requirements: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant or in a similar role (3+ years) Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Xero, Netsuite) and/or payroll software (Gusto, Paychex) Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and remotely Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles High degree of integrity and confidentiality Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, pursuing CPA) is a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Location: Hybrid - Chicago, IL Seniority level: Associate Employment type: Full-time Job function: Accounting/Auditing Industries: Accounting #J-18808-Ljbffr Archer Lewis
