Project Engineer-Kiewit Nuclear Solutions-Idaho Falls, ID Location: Idaho Falls, ID, US Requisition ID: 174811 Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Operations Team focused on carbon-free technologies such as Small Modular Reactors. The Assistant Project Engineer must have an aptitude for practical engineering, a willingness to learn rapidly, the ability to work with little supervision, strong leadership skills, and a willingness to travel periodically. Responsibilities include managing the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project and assisting in managing a team of field and cost engineers. This role requires strong interpersonal and information management skills, serving as the main conduit of information between the project manager and the team for technical, cost, and schedule information. Additionally, mentorship skills are essential for developing team members with a succession plan to project management. Location The position is located in Idaho Falls, ID. Responsibilities Perform integrated engineering processes to fulfill project requirements and achieve target dates. Author and review designs, specifications, analyses, and drawings in compliance with engineering principles and applicable standards. Prepare and review design concept drawings for equipment using input from various technical disciplines. Recognize, define, and resolve problems within assigned areas. Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications. Examine field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise. Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, addressing deficiencies as needed. Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software. Manage document control and maintain document control logs. Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and timely delivery. Travel (less than 20% of time). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university. 3-5+ years of work experience in construction or engineering. Knowledge of ASME Codes is desired. Excellent attention to detail and capability for producing error-free documents. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of engineering design practices and principles. Experience with industry codes to develop equipment design. Experience working with engineers and fabricators to develop designs and drawings. Experience in the preparation of equipment sizing calculations and related drawings. Other Requirements:
