We are seeking a motivated Project Accountant to join our Accounting team. The Project Accountant will be responsible for all billings, job cost functions, and project reporting for a hyper-scale project. Essential Functions & Capabilities: Review customer contracts for required billing, lien waiver, and other accounting related responsibilities. Set up and maintain job information in Vista; including phase codes, cost estimates, billing templates, contracts, and change orders. Track project budgets, commitments, and actual expenses to ensure costs are coded appropriately. Work with Project Managers and Billing Specialists to prepare customer invoices. Prepare documentation for customer invoices and ensure labor rates, rentals and markups are accurate. Assist Project Managers with job cost related tasks and reporting. Work with Project Managers to prepare customer billing rates. Analyze project financials and provide insights to Project Managers and senior leadership. Lead job audits. Review subcontractor invoices and required supporting documentation, recommend for approval or rejection to Project Manager. Work with Accounts Payable team to ensure subcontractors are paid within terms. Coordinate subcontractor compliance with insurance, licensing, and contract documentation. Provide guidance on correct accounting classifications of project costs as well as ensure proper application of sales & use tax rules. Perform additional duties as directed by the Controller and CFO. Critical Competencies: Strong attention to detail and meet deadlines. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Willingness to foster effective team relationships to contribute towards success of the project. Mindset to continuously examine process and procedures, improving where possible. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of construction accounting experience. Bachelors or Associates degree preferred. Vista experience a plus. Intermediate Excel skills.
