Salary: $75,000 - $100,000

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented Packaging Design Engineer I to join their team and contribute to the creation of impactful packaging designs while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to create packaging solutions aligned with industry standards and specifications.
  • Develop and update packaging designs, including materials, dimensions, and tolerances to optimize manufacturing efficiency and cost.
  • Participate in customer site visits to gather accurate design requirements and evaluate packaging needs.
  • Create detailed CAD drawings and renderings to support manufacturing and design processes.
  • Perform packaging tests such as drop, vibration, inclined impact, and compression tests in compliance with ASTM/ISTA standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for design specifications, engineering analyses, and test results.
  • Assist in prototype creation and validation to ensure packaging performance meets customer requirements.
  • Provide CAD and graphics support for equipment operations, such as Kongsberg tables and digital printers.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to develop inspection forms and technical documentation.
  • Update existing Bill of Materials (BOM) and modify technical drawings as needed.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in packaging/structural design and development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD.
  • Strong understanding of corrugated and wooden packaging, distribution packaging, and package testing.
  • Knowledge of ASTM/ISTA standards and transportation/material handling requirements.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • General knowledge of clean room acceptable packaging materials.
  • Experience with CNC programming and Kongsberg tables.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment like calipers, accelerometers, and data acquisition software.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
