GENERAL FUNCTION:

The National Commercial Real Estate Director I is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing relationships in a sizeable portfolio of National Commercial Real Estate loans. Oversees the review and underwriting of credit requests and ensures appropriateness and satisfaction level of existing services provided. Handles loans of a more complex and/or substantial nature. Responsible for developing revenue growth through generation of loans, deposits, cross-selling all applicable bank services to existing customer base, and to identify and solicit bank service to non-customers. Services include financing and depository products related to real estate investments, income property, development, construction, etc. This role may also provide oversight of Analysts, Associates and CAP's (Commercial Associate Program participants) to ensure production of a high quality work product.

The role is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Calls on potential customers and attends to the needs of existing portfolio
  2. Produces and maintains profitable National Commercial Real Estate loan volume, with primary responsibility for cross-sell, return generation, and First Line of Defense
  3. Ensure that relationships are managed to the highest profit potential for the Bank, develop profitable new business, cross-sell all applicable 5/3 products and services an existing portfolio, and manage the sales process in a specific geographic area for commercial real estate loans.
  4. Assists in the development of new National Commercial Real Estate Relationship Managers, Associates and Analysts.
  5. Develops good working relationships with peers and senior leaders in National Commercial Real Estate and the rest of the organization.
  6. Provide support to the Capital Markets businesses by assessing whether securities products and capital markets services would be appropriate for a particular client, and working with the Capital Markets teams to provide those products and services to clients.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No direct reports, however incumbent provides oversight and direction for Associates, Analysts and Commercial Leadership Program participants.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred.
  2. 6+ years of experience in Commercial Banking, Finance, or related field.
  3. 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience and sales management preferred.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
  5. Demonstrated sales and negotiation experience.
  6. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  7. Strong credit training required and underwriting skills preferred.
  8. Proven track record of success in working as a part of a team to originate, and close complex financial transactions.
  9. Ability to interact effectively with senior executives inside and outside our organization.
  10. Strong relationship building skills.
  11. Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, & 63 licenses required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like
  2. Extended viewing of a CRT screen
  3. Some travel required

Total Base Pay Range 94,500.00 - 203,200.00 USD Annual
