Job Description

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for implementing and advancing the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) function in alignment with global and regional standards. As a key member of a cross-functional team, the HSE Senior Professional will collaborate across departments to develop innovative safety strategies, promote a culture of safety excellence, and drive continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as a champion for safe behaviors and operational practices, working closely with leadership to enhance hazard awareness and injury prevention.
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of safety programs, including behavior-based safety, risk assessments, and compliance with ISO and internal standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on engineering controls and design changes to reduce occupational hazards (e.g., ergonomics, machine safety, fire prevention).
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Mentor and guide local teams in developing safe work practices, responding to safety concerns, and generating creative solutions to complex safety challenges.
  • Oversee environmental compliance activities, including inspections, monitoring, testing, and reporting for air, water, and waste permits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of environmental reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Lead the analysis and documentation of environmental incidents and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for environmental matters across multiple sites or campuses.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through various channels.
  • Prepare for and support interactions with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA) during inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to pilot new HSE initiatives and leverage external expertise.
  • Partner with site leadership to develop forward-thinking solutions that mitigate risk and enhance safety performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive HSE experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.
  • Strong ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital reporting platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects independently or collaboratively.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
