Job Description

Cybersecurity Policy Writer

In support of the DTRA Cybersecurity department, the Cybersecurity Policy SME is responsible for the following:

  • Develop Agency-level cybersecurity policy and related documentation in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including IT, legal, compliance, and governance to ensure policy effectiveness and adoption.
  • Provide expert guidance and interpretation of cybersecurity policies and regulations.
  • Serve as the Cybersecurity Departments' contractor representative for Agency-level policy documentation concerning cybersecurity policy initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
  • Support audits and compliance assessments related to cybersecurity policies and controls.
  • Develop Agency-wide communications on emerging cybersecurity topics for a variety of mediums.
  • Maintain the Cybersecurity SharePoint page, which highlights emerging cyber threats, team overviews, and serves as a one-stop shop for cybersecurity resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two (2) - Ten (10) years of experience.
  • High School diploma/Associates required.
  • Secret Clearance required.
  • DOD 8570/8140 IAT II Certification.

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Policy Writer to support our Prime Contract with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at Fort Belvoir. This position requires an active Top-Secret Clearance and a DOD IAT level II.
