A law firm seeks a motivated Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate to join its team in Chicago, IL. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in corporate transactions, particularly in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity. The role involves working on sophisticated deals, providing strategic legal counsel, and collaborating with a dynamic legal team to deliver exceptional results for clients.

Duties:

Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements for mergers, acquisitions, and private equity transactions.
Conduct detailed due diligence to identify legal and regulatory risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Provide strategic advice to clients on structuring deals and managing corporate governance issues.
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to execute complex transactions effectively.
Advise on compliance with federal and state regulations affecting corporate and transactional matters.
Monitor deal progress, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.

Requirements:

3 to 7 years of experience handling mergers, acquisitions, and private equity transactions.
Exceptional research, analytical, and legal writing abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused mindset.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.

Skills:

Expertise in transactional law, corporate governance, and deal structuring.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation and client management capabilities.
Ability to work both collaboratively in a team setting and independently when required.
