Summary/Objective:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating construction projects from the sale through completion, ensuring delivery within the established schedule and budget. The role involves close collaboration with owners, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Success in this position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive progress, control costs, maintain timelines, and uphold quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, organize, and manage all project management activities across assigned projects
  • Collaborate with the estimating team during the bidding phase when requested
  • Oversee the buyout process, including thorough scope reviews and fair, transparent negotiations with subcontractors and vendors
  • Coordinate and drive the preconstruction process to ensure a strong project start
  • Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, updating them regularly throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review and approve the three-week look-ahead schedules developed by the Project Superintendent
  • Ensure that all required permits and licenses are obtained for each project
  • Provide direct oversight to Project Engineers (PEs) and Project Coordinators (PCs) in managing contracts, purchase orders, submittals, RFIs, warranties, and related documentation

  • Provide leadership and support to the project superintendent throughout each project

Competencies:

  • Professionalism – Treats others with tact and respect, regardless of role or status, and consistently demonstrates integrity and accountability.
  • Planning & Organization – Effectively prioritizes tasks, manages time, coordinates with others, and anticipates resource needs to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Adaptability – Adjusts quickly to changing conditions, unexpected delays, or evolving project needs while maintaining productivity and composure.
  • Punctuality & Reliability – Consistently arrives on time for work and meetings, follows through on commitments, and delivers tasks within deadlines.
  • Dependability – Completes assignments thoroughly and takes initiative to work additional hours when necessary to meet project goals.
  • Initiative & Growth Mindset – Seeks added responsibilities, volunteers for new challenges, and engages in professional development.
  • Customer Satisfaction Drive – Maintains a customer-first mindset, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded through timely and thoughtful support.
  • Ownership & Accountability – Takes responsibility for actions, learns from mistakes, and applies those lessons to future work.
  • Technical Literacy – Demonstrates the ability to read, understand, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and documents.
  • Construction Knowledge – Possesses a strong working knowledge of standard building construction methods, materials, and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for orchestrating and supervising construction projects from the sale through final construction. The employee may also serve as a mentor or resource to other team members, supporting professional growth and sharing technical expertise across the organization.

Work Environment:

Physical Demands:

Site visits may require climbing ladders, walking across uneven terrain, and driving between project locations. Time spent in the office may involve extended periods at a computer or using standard office equipment, which could lead to eye or muscle strain. Occasional lifting of office supplies or materials (up to 15 pounds) may be necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, exempt position. A standard work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday; however, evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs or deadlines.

  • Experience with construction software such as Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Revit, or Microsoft Project
