Clinical Informatics Trainer

Reports to : Infrastructure Director Status: Non- Exempt Location: Crook County Medical Services District

POSITION SUMMARY

As an onsite and remote Clinical Informatics Trainer with CCMSD, you are responsible for supporting the education of newly hired team members, physicians and vendors resources as needed in your primary role. The Clinical Informatics side of the position provides guidance and technical assistance to CCMSD by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information and communication systems to improve patient care; support meaningful use; enhance access to care; and strengthen patient-centered medical initiatives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities :

The Clinical Trainer is responsible for educating internal team members and contracted personnel on all workflows, clinical processes, certification courses and biomedical devices.

  • Creating maintaining EMR workflows/procedures, assisting with business process redesign, ensuring data quality, facilitating compliance, and resolving data discrepancies.

· As a Clinical Trainer, you will teach professional development and train clinical staff in medical settings.

· Coordinate health informatics functions to promote quality improvement and quality assurance activities at CCMSD, improve care, and ensure compliance with hospital standards.

· Strong group presentation and people skills, can work independently, and is a model of professionalism

· Provide development meetings to team members to help them reach strategic organizational objectives, comply with state and federal standards, develop effective management systems, and resolve workflow difficulties.

· Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as instructor led group training, computer-based training, videos, webinars, over the phone training, self-paced, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

  • Help with health information government entity reporting (Department of Public Health and Human Services) on behalf of CCMSD to ensure compliance with Meaningful Use requirements and to coordinate information sharing through healthcare information exchanges and state disease registries.

· Actively update training content following state compliance/rules/regulations

· Conduct training sessions covering specific areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, ongoing training, and specialized training.

· Supports managers, providers, Super Users, and Quality staff in their understanding of Cerner EMR functionality/limitations and associated organizationally approved workflows.

· Report on progress and effectiveness of training sessions and seek constructive feedback to continue to elevate the level of training within the organization.

· Supports enterprise analytics analysts in the recognition and interpretation of discrete data for reporting purposes.

· Collaborate closely with organization to understand how training/education efforts can help positively impact efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall care quality.

· Analyzes and advises various department workgroups on pros and cons of different EMR strategies to meet the clinical needs and evidence-based clinical tools.

· Manage company training systems and policies in our policy management system

· Generation of EMR reporting to help decide where training focus needs to be proactively

Qualifications

Education and other qualifications

  • RN degree with strong clinical knowledge is preferred
  • Active unrestricted nursing license in at least one state within the United States.
  • Recent experience in Acute Care, ICU, ED, or Teaching in Hospitals
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with excellent computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently, undistracted, and collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Knowledge of MS Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications. May travel to continuing education workshops and/or fill in at other Departments and Clinics as
