Senior Attorney- California Workers' Compensation defense cases

100% Remote Role

Contract

Seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Attorney to handle a caseload of California Workers' Compensation defense cases , including possible appearances before WC Boards in Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Oxnard ..

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex legal and factual issues; conduct legal research
• Develop and present defense strategies
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, depositions, petitions, and trial briefs
• Collaborate with Claims Partners to achieve optimal outcomes
• Communicate with courts, counsel, witnesses, and clients
• Handle trials, hearings, and appellate briefs
• Prepare witnesses and manage evidence independently

Qualifications:

For Staff Attorney:

• 2+ years of Workers' Compensation legal experience
• JD from accredited law school; CA bar license
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Trial experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office; Lexis Nexis a plus
• Organized and self-directed

For Senior Staff Attorney:

• 5+ years of experience with complex/life pension Workers' Comp cases
• JD from accredited law school; CA bar license
• Trial experience preferred
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong MS Office and Lexis Nexis skills
• Highly organized and able to work independently

***Pay rate- $70-$90/hour
