Position Summary
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supervises and coordinates activities of room attendants, house attendants, public area cleaners and floor supervisors. He / She assists in the managing and directing of the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. Participates in and enforces quality assurance for Housekeeping Department and department cost control measures. You should have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments and housekeeping staff. Obtains list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately & list of prospective checkouts or discharges to prepare work assignments. Assigns team members their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day.
Physical responsibilities include exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds; Push/pull carts and other equipment Up to 150 pounds; Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas; Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding; Work environment - Engineering workshop, all areas of the hotel. Working on stepladders. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings, and around fumes and/or odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, and chemicals; Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent
Related Work Experience: Computer skills required.
Requires good understanding of the English language and communication skills both written and verbal. Previous guest/customer relations training is preferred.
Supervisory Experience: Previous experience in a similar job role, or minimum of 2 years' experience as assistant executive housekeeper or supervisor
